HISTORICAL PUBLIC-INSTITUTION AID COHORT · USD
Average net prices below $20,000.
1697 public institutions match this screen using their latest connected net-price period. Reporting years are shown on every record. Institutions are listed alphabetically.
Whose average is this?
The connected COST2 measure covers full-time, first-time degree/certificate-seeking undergraduates paying in-state or in-district tuition at public institutions with standard academic calendars who received qualifying federal, state/local or institutional grant or scholarship aid. Other grant sources are excluded.
Average net price includes a population cost of attendance less qualifying grant aid. This is not tuition alone, a personal aid award or a verified international price. Reported zero and negative averages are retained; a negative average does not promise a payment to you.

Use the average to ask better questions
A lower historical average can reflect the costs and aid of a different student population. Check your current applicant route, price category and confirmed funding before comparing budgets. A dollar screen does not compare course availability, programme fit or your eligibility for aid.
Costs and admissions on an institution page come from separate datasets. Read their own periods rather than treating all figures as one application-year estimate.
