Choose the qualification before choosing a campus
If you search for “study in Korea,” your results can combine degree courses, graduate research and Korean language classes. They are different planning routes. Begin by writing down the qualification you want to hold when the course finishes, then use that answer to decide which admissions instructions to read.
The Korean government's Study in Korea overview distinguishes undergraduate, graduate and university-affiliated Korean language programmes. It describes conventional bachelor study as generally four years, associate programmes as commonly two to three years, and master and doctoral study as separate higher qualifications. Individual fields and programme structures have exceptions. This overview does not confirm your eligibility for a specific institution.
Build a route-specific research sheet
Use one sheet for each route rather than mixing every result into a single ranking. Suggested columns are qualification, entry category, teaching language, campus, intake, application page, current tuition period and unanswered questions. The purpose is to make incomplete evidence visible, not to give every institution a score.
For a degree route, find the institution's current admissions guide for your qualification and applicant category. For a language course, identify the exact course length and the document it awards. Do not assume that completing a language course automatically grants entry into a separate degree programme. Keep any claimed progression arrangement linked to the institution's actual written terms.
Check language at the programme level
An English webpage is useful for research, but it is not proof that the course itself uses English throughout. Record the language stated for the specific curriculum, assessment and practical components. If the page names a proficiency test, check the current guide for accepted results, score components, validity and exemptions rather than copying a general national summary.
If two pages disagree, note the disagreement and identify which intake each page covers. An older brochure and a current admissions notice may describe different cycles. Preserve the older link for context while treating the unresolved requirement as a question to clarify before submission.
Compare commitments as well as annual prices
A course lasting several terms and a multi-year degree cannot be compared through one unlabeled tuition figure. Write the charge period and expected duration beside each price. Then list living costs for the months you plan to stay, plus initial expenses. A lower annual fee can still produce a larger total commitment over a longer course.
The won budget calculator supports whole-won arithmetic using your own inputs. It does not supply institutional fees or exchange rates. Return to the South Korea planning hub as you build your shortlist, and verify programme details through the institution's current official pages.
