The starting tuition and books figures come from academic year 2024-25. Tuition uses the reported out-of-state rate. Replace these values with the institution’s current quote for your applicant category.

Published tuition is one part of your study cost. Required institutional fees may already be included in a quoted tuition-and-fees figure. Check the wording before adding the same fee again under “other costs”. Housing, food, insurance, travel and course materials may be billed separately or paid directly to other providers.
Monthly living estimates must match the number of months you actually need housing and food. A nine-month academic budget can leave summer expenses outside the calculation. If you intend to stay for a full year, use twelve months and review whether accommodation remains available during breaks.
Keep estimates comparable
Use figures for the same academic year. A historical tuition record can help you understand past prices, but it does not confirm the next intake’s bill. State residency, degree level, full-time status and applicant category can change the quote. An out-of-state price does not establish the price charged to an international student.
Enter every expense and grant in the selected currency. This calculator does not convert currencies or forecast exchange rates. If a source quotes a different currency, convert the amount consistently before entering it and keep the rate, date and assumption in your own records. Connected institution price prefills remain USD only.
Separate aid from borrowing
Subtract grants and scholarships only after checking the amount, covered period and permitted expenses. A renewable award may require conditions in later years. A loan can help cover a payment but creates a repayment obligation, so it belongs in your financing plan rather than reducing the underlying cost.
Review the official aid offer alongside the institution’s cost-of-attendance breakdown. This calculator keeps your estimates together; the official documents determine your fees and funding terms.
