What to verify for this unit

Original DUO RIO overview of funded current and future higher education education records. OPLEIDING means a programme and VARIANT a programme variant. Each unit page groups only the original OPLEIDINGSEENHEIDCODE; an offering or location is not counted as a separate degree. The list does not cover every private provider or guarantee that applications are open.

Reported start, end and intake dates remain source evidence rather than a promise of current availability. A missing end date does not establish an open intake. Names, qualification labels, codes, languages and missing values remain in Dutch. No CIP equivalence, inferred admissions conditions or institution-name matches are added. Contextual offering records and source-name aliases are preserved together.

OMSCHRIJVING
MAVAS is a combined program between Veterinary Medicine of Utrecht University and the Master of Animal Sciences. Selected students that are eligible for this program (see under admission) follow courses and complete a thesis at Wageningen University. They are registered to the relevant MSc programs at both universities. Students follow the two Master programs at the same time and receive exemptions to be able to complete both programs in 3,5 years. At Wageningen University, MAVAS students are registered to the MSc Animal Sciences, and they follow the current MAVAS examination program. Upon graduation, students have received a combination of clinical and fundamental academic training. This program will deliver the much-needed all-round veterinary professionals in a sector in transition.\n\nThe MSc program Animal Sciences is a logical continuation of a BSc in Animal Sciences or an equivalent BSc program such as Veterinary Sciences or Animal Biology. This MAVAS description is the Wageningen University part of the collaboration between Veterinary Medicine at Utrecht University and Animal Sciences. As such this program adheres to the same learning outcomes as the Master Animal Sciences. The focus of the Master Animal Sciences is to deliver skilled professionals, well equipped to tackle problems related to sustainable management and prevention of disease in animals that are an integral part of our society, economy and culture. Our graduates are well skilled in understanding diverse animal systems and their development and have an integrated awareness on the stakeholders and challenges within and outside these systems, including food supply, animal health, level of management and genetic diversity as well as infrastructural, ecological and global socio-economic factors.
