What to verify for this unit

Original DUO RIO overview of funded current and future higher education education records. OPLEIDING means a programme and VARIANT a programme variant. Each unit page groups only the original OPLEIDINGSEENHEIDCODE; an offering or location is not counted as a separate degree. The list does not cover every private provider or guarantee that applications are open.

Reported start, end and intake dates remain source evidence rather than a promise of current availability. A missing end date does not establish an open intake. Names, qualification labels, codes, languages and missing values remain in Dutch. No CIP equivalence, inferred admissions conditions or institution-name matches are added. Contextual offering records and source-name aliases are preserved together.

OMSCHRIJVING
The International Master of Science in Health Management in Aquaculture (AquaH) is an Erasmus Mundus programme and a cooperation between four universities in different European countries. One of the learning lines of AquaH is an integral part of the MSc Aquaculture and Marine Resource Management (MAM) of Wageningen University, specialisation A: Aquaculture and includes the course 'Frontiers in animal health' . This particular learning line focuses on preventing diseases and maintaining adequate health, whilst minimising the impact on the environment. Admission to the MAM programme does not equal admission to AquaH because this programme has a separate admission and application procedure. After finishing the AquaH MSc programme, students will receive a double degree in both AquaH and MAM. \n\nParticipants that successfully complete the programme, will understand the interaction between aquaculture species and their environment, and be able to help produce in a controlled way robust and healthy animals with attention for epidemiological, environmental and welfare regulations. Following a common start-up module at the University of Ghent in Belgium where fundamental issues in aquaculture health are addressed, AquaH students can continue a specific learning line at WU to focus on recent developments in fish and shellfish nutrition and health in circular aquaculture systems (recirculating aquaculture systems or ponds). Here, they will perform research into how nutrition influences and interacts with health, how novel feed ingredients can help improve disease resistance, and how to apply the latest strategies for disease prevention based on activation of the immune system, including important tools such as new generation vaccines.
