What to verify for this unit
- Use unit code 1016O0969 and the exact provider and location codes when checking the intended programme with its provider.
- Match VORM and VOERTAAL within the same contextual row, then check the current curriculum and teaching-language requirements with the provider.
- Check the original offering and intake dates below. An empty end date does not confirm an open intake or a current application deadline.
Original DUO RIO overview of funded current and future higher education education records. OPLEIDING means a programme and VARIANT a programme variant. Each unit page groups only the original OPLEIDINGSEENHEIDCODE; an offering or location is not counted as a separate degree. The list does not cover every private provider or guarantee that applications are open.
Reported start, end and intake dates remain source evidence rather than a promise of current availability. A missing end date does not establish an open intake. Names, qualification labels, codes, languages and missing values remain in Dutch. No CIP equivalence, inferred admissions conditions or institution-name matches are added. Contextual offering records and source-name aliases are preserved together.

- The *MSc Aquaculture and Marine Resource Management (MAM)*trains students to develop the integrative knowledge and competencies required for sustainable use , conservation, and restoration of marine and aquatic ecosystems and resources. The programme addresses food supply and the sustainable use, conservation, and restoration of marine resources. In doing so, it provides students with knowledge of the effects of society's use of technology on marine environments. Sustainable aquaculture and the use of marine resources require a detailed understanding of not only ecological aspects and technological possibilities, but also of socio-economic demands and constraints, and policy options and scenarios. MAM accommodates a diverse student inflow. Students who have completed the programme have an integrative mindset and knowledge of sustainable aquaculture production and marine resource management, yet are specialised in one of the following areas with distinctive career options:\n\n***A: Aquaculture***In this specialisation, students learn about the culture of fish and other aquatic organisms, in conditions ranging from sea-based enclosures to semi-extensive ponds, high-tech on-land water recirculation systems, and integrated multi-trophic aquaculture. They acquire the technical skills required for maintaining a healthy production environment, gain in-depth knowledge of the biology and physiology of aquatic organisms, and develop management skills for aquaculture systems.\n\n***B: Marine Resources & Ecology***Students taking this specialisation learn about concepts in marine biology and ecology. They study the diversity and functioning of marine ecosystems, including the impacts of human activities. They learn to understand and apply mathematical models of ecological interactions, population dynamics, and fishery yield, thereby developing insights to protect and develop marine ecosystems.\n\n***C: Marine Resources & Society***This specialisation provides students with the analytical skills and tools they need to understand the human dimension of marine resource management. They learn to evaluate and design social and economic strategies and policy arrangements for the management and governance of sustainable marine resource use and conservation. They gain insight into the functioning of national and international public institutions, including the EU and UN, and into the economics of natural resource management.
