Programme evidence at a glance

This unit has 1 contextual record containing 1 retained source row, with 1 distinct provider code. These are source-record counts, not separate degrees, available places or open applications. Source-name aliases do not create extra contextual records.

Read across each row to keep its provider, location, study form and teaching language together. Values from different rows should not be combined into one offering.

What to verify for this unit

Original DUO RIO overview of funded current and future higher education education records. OPLEIDING means a programme and VARIANT a programme variant. Each unit page groups only the original OPLEIDINGSEENHEIDCODE; an offering or location is not counted as a separate degree. The list does not cover every private provider or guarantee that applications are open.

Reported start, end and intake dates remain source evidence rather than a promise of current availability. A missing end date does not establish an open intake. Names, qualification labels, codes, languages and missing values remain in Dutch. No CIP equivalence, inferred admissions conditions or institution-name matches are added. Contextual offering records and source-name aliases are preserved together.

OMSCHRIJVING
Meeting the material and energy needs of a growing world population will increasingly require re-use of material and resources of biobased origin, whilst at the same time, these resources are needed to supply food for humans and feed for animals. Efficient and effective use of these biobased resources is already challenging and will be an increasingly important societal challenge for the next century. This transition to a more circular and biobased society does however also offer new economic opportunities, for the existing agri-food and chemical industries, but also for innovative crossovers between different industries. Addressing the challenges of the development towards a more biobased and circular society requires an interdisciplinary mindset. Primary biomass production, bio refinery, various conversion strategies as well as socio-economic aspects and life cycle analysis have to be included. The programme starts multidisciplinary by teaching knowledge, research and design methods from the different domains of circular and biobased economy next to each other. In a second step, students learn to work Interdisciplinarity. Interdisciplinarity creates higher value by combining two or more disciplines.
